Restorative Dentistry

Fillings & Alternatives

Most adults in the U.S. have a dental filling, but not all fillings are created equal. Biomimetic fillings mimic a natural tooth, so they last longer and protect your oral health.

At Alleman Dental, we offer:

  • Biomimetic fillings that last longer than traditional fillings, while protecting your tooth

  • Silver filling and amalgam removal

  • Treatment for white filling failure

The difference between weak and strong bonds is clear in these photos. The first photo shows a failing composite restoration that was not well-bonded to the natural tooth. The second photo is the tooth after biomimetic treatment by Dr. Davey Alleman, DMD.

Crowns, Overlays, Onlays & Inlays

We offer conservative alternatives to full-coverage crowns that fully treat pathologies and support your healthy tooth structure.

Biomimetic inlays treat the crack while conserving essential tooth structure.

Traditional crowns cut away the same amount of tooth structure, regardless of pathologies.

Deep Margin Elevation

Deep margin elevation is a restorative technique that replaces missing tooth structure below the gum due to caries or crack treatment.

Benefits for patients:

  • Deep margin elevation is the conservative approach, preventing surgery and preserving tooth structure.

  • Deep margin elevation saves time and money, as it is completed during the same appointment as your treatment.

Cracked & Damaged Teeth

Cracks in teeth are most commonly associated with extreme force, like injury that would break a tooth or biting a very hard food. While this can crack teeth, cracks can also form over time from regular chewing, most commonly in teeth with fillings or crowns, but also in untreated teeth.

At Alleman Dental, we use high magnification and a risk assessment to diagnose cracks early and treat them in your teeth to relieve symptoms and help your teeth stay healthy.

A large composite restoration failed to support the surrounding tooth structure, causing a crack to form under a cusp (visible as a white line). The crack is removed and the tooth is restored biomimetically. Case by Dr. Davey Alleman, DMD.
