Root Canal Therapy
What is root canal therapy?
Root canal therapy is an endodontic treatment that removes the nerve, called the pulp, from a tooth when it has lost vitality. This treatment is necessary for teeth that are non-vital to prevent further loss of tooth structure.
Endodontic treatment options at Alleman Dental
While we offer root canal second opinions and prevention options for many patients, there are some teeth that still benefit from endodontic treatment. In these cases Dr. Alleman will perform the root canal as part of your restorative appointment or have a recommended endodontist perform the treatment before your restoration.
Biomimetic restorative dentistry can still benefit endodontically treated teeth by conserving remaining tooth structure, safely removing cracks and sealing the tooth from reinfection.
